Facebook has launched in a few countries a simplified, lighter version of its application for Android. It takes the simple name of Facebook Lite, and is compatible on 2G.
This is a lighter version of the traditional application of Facebook, incorporating a more rudimentary design, supposed to be displayed on 2G, which takes us back together three years ago. But what is the advantage of allowing a 2G access? Despite a supply/demand growing 3G and 4G smartphones, emerging countries like India are still extremely mobile entry applicants (low) range. Moreover, a third of this market alone - about 1 billion mobile users - is equipped with low-cost smartphones, which represents many potential users of Facebook Lite, since there will be no need of disproportionate resources to run the application. Yet, according to Tech Crunch, the country is obviously not concerned with Lite, which was deployed in Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Sudan, Srilanka, Vietnam, South Africa, Zimbabwe.
Now that Facebook has finished work on his lean application, it only has to deal with relief that which prevails in Western markets, and consumes more memory than the others combined.
